Willis J. Bailey

Willis J. Bailey, 71, of Summit, MS passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Southwest Miss. Regional Medical Center in McComb.

Mr. Bailey was born January 31, 1941 in Ruth, MS. He was the son of T. J. Bailey & Marie Thames Bailey. Visitation will be Tuesday evening at Jones Family Funeral Services in McComb, MS from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until funeral services there in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 AM. Rev. Glen Crane & Rev. Tom Burris will officiate. Burial will be in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Summit, MS with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be: Chris Butrick, Chase Butrick, Cody McDaniel, Joe Papisan, Cecil Bailey, Jr., Kenny Bailey & Jimmy McDaniel

Honorary Pallbearer will be Chris Bailey

He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Summit and was a veteran having served in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Yellowstone. He worked 41 years hauling pulpwood and several years hauling gravel. His first job was delivering newspapers for the Enterprise Journal.

Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents, T. J. & Marie Thames Bailey and one brother, Bobby Joe Bailey.

Survivors include his three sons, Mark Bailey, Richie Bailey & Trent Bailey all of Ruth; two brothers, Cecil Bailey & wife Martha of Ruth, and Ted Bailey & wife Patricia of Summit; three sisters, Minnie Smith of Summit, Anita Westbrook & husband Gene of Slaughter, LA, and Barbara Butler & husband, Joe of Summit; a very special caregiver, Ashley Bailey of Summit; two loving dogs, Cricket & Tiny, both of Summit; seven grandchildren, Robert, Eric, Raven, Reece, Ross, Austin, Caitlyn Bailey. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
